Yeah, that's a good breakdown but I think the sales numbers are the best judge of it all. Right now, MS is in the news for taking second place behind Apple in the portable player market. However, what these stats don't mention (which is very unfortunate as well as highly misleading) is that MS bought Zunes through retail channels for every employee tied to Vista, IE7 or Zune development. That is well over 4,000 zunes just for internal "grab & toss" marketing alone. Add to that their partners and MSN with their prize give-a-ways and you have over 1/2 a million Zunes purchesed by the company itself, not the consumers.
